"Merry Day After Christmas!"

Like the title says. So stinking busy with all the material last minute shopping, bouncing around to various family member houses, tearing open presents, rincing and repeating. As soon as I get a break I'm knee deep into estimating my taxes in order to see if there are any addtional tax writeoffs I should get before the year ends. I'd once like to actually I don't know, ENJOY my holiday. I try to enjoy the time when I do the visiting thing but I feel rushed the entire time so I really don't. Maybe I'll try something different next year.

School cannon blows up student's leg and the town threatens him to shut up.

Read the article linked below, the towns people there utterly disgust me:

You know when the Roman Empire fell one of the things that was happening was that the people were more involved with sports and other things than dealing with the reality of whats going on around them or even the well being of it's own people. The signs are appearing everywhere for history repeating itself.

An Explination of Net Neutrality

The above is a very important video. It's kinda boring to watch but very easy to understand. Watch it and if there is ever a vote involving Net Neutrality, vote FOR Net Neutrality. Voting against it is censorship of the 21st century.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - another LOST PS3 exclusive, coming to Xbox 360!

"Straight from a dev source on the game, MGS4: Guns of the Patriots will be hitting 360 a few months after the PS3 version, simply because Konami doesn't believe there'll be enough consoles out there. Blu Ray diode failure appears to be the issue that publishers believe hinders market penetration."

No idea if this is true or not because the source page dosen't seem like a proven reliable source but if it is true it'll pretty much mean I would never have to buy a PS3 EVER, price drop or not. This would be the only game that would make me want to cave and buy that monstrosity. Ok, this and maybe GranTurismo 5 if Polyphony Digital are making such a game, but that wont be for several more years so I can save a hell of alot of cash and still get my Metal Gear fix.

Realistic Expectations

When you collaborate in a common goal or voluntarily help other people, when is it appropriate to say "Enough is enough"? In other words, when is it appropriate or is it even appropriate to claim your own stopping point? Is there a correct balance between using your time and energy for yourself versus using it for the benefit of others? If there is a balance, what is the measure used to determine the amount of time and energy to balance between the two?

Just something that struck me today.

Why I'm not getting a PS3. Reason # 5,163

I don't even want to get into the other 5,162 reasons for not owning a PS3. You know, for the amount of money you have to pay for one of these things, it should do ALOT better than this:

California Christmas Decorations

Most people around the world decorate houses or trees for Christmas, Californians decorate boats. Yes, boats. Electrical lighted devices strung all over vehicles that travel ON BODIES OF WATER! Last I checked electricity and water don't mix. Maybe it's perfectly safe but it just seems odd to me.

I took this photo from the top deck of my office party last Friday. Yes the one where I wore the devil suit. This boat came cruising by so I tried to grab a shot of it with my phone. It's a bit blurry because they were moving pretty fast and my phone doesn't have a very fast shutter in low light but you get the point.

Skyguard, a Star Wars like defense system that is here now.

"Sounds too futuristic to be true? Check out the video of the Skyguard system taking out mortar rounds, artillery shells and rockets. Pretty cool and at $150 million a piece, Bill Gates might even pick one up for his place."

This is damn impressive:

Time Off For A Contractor

I received this clipping at work and that guy on the left is me. I can vouch for everything he says. Every hour I take off hurts my wallet that much more.

Devil Clothes

Well, I already failed my goal of posting every day. That lasted long didn't it? It wasn't completely my fault since I was out late with Danielle trying to find a suit to wear to my company's Holiday Party this Friday. Yes I said "find a suit". By various acts of thuggery I'm having to wear the most evil of all clothing. I've always been convinced that if Satan actually exists, he wears suits (and high end ones at that). How anyone could pay as much as two round trip tickets across country for clothing that is neither very comfortable nor durable and makes you look as exiting as an hour of C-SPAN NOT be serving a of sentence for some kind of heavenly violation I'll never know. This being the case, I'm not to confident in my location in the afterlife because not only are suits currently WAY more expensive then I remember them being (500-800 for a cheaper set now)and my freakish body size drives up the price considerably. This means buying higher end clothing or having a common set custom altered. I wish I could remember what I did that was so sinful to deserve this. I'd really like to know because it must have been a hell of a lot of fun!

New Leaf?

Abandoned sites suck. I really don't need to explain why they just do. Unfortunately I have this bad habit of starting websites as personal projects and then abandoning them. I don't really know why except it might be a combination of a bit of boredom mixed with a break in my routine.

Anyway, I want to break this habit of abandonment so I'm making an early new years resolution to keep up with this blog. Hopefully it will be a start for other personal web projects to come. To get started I'm making a resoution to post to this blog a minumum of once a day starting today (with this post) and to post a moblog like picture 3 times a week. The picture thing is just to get me into the habit of taking more pictures (beyond the plain old "birthday party pictures"). There will not be any other rules other than at least 3 posts a week must NOT be a talkback or a post of other material. Some kind of thought process must be involved.

That's it. Let's see if I stick to it and see where this goes.
