KNOCKHOPPER Performs Live Nationally this Monday!

Recieved this just a bit ago:

"Hello there loyal FOKers and Knockers!

Good news on the KNOCKHOPPER getting ultra cool and famous front! : ) Well famous anyway. I don't see how we can be much cooler, I mean really... ; )
This Monday morning, sometime between 7-9 am on CBS's national morning show (similar to NBC's TODAY show), KNOCKHOPPER will be seen performing one of their songs, (You're the One), live in front of millions of people in front of a national audience. Call and write EVERYONE you know to let them know about the performance!

We here at the KNOCK INC. camp are very excited about the opportunity and hope that everyone is able to record the program to watch over and over for years to come. You can even show your kid's kids!!! LOL : )
Let us know if you get a chance to check it out!
Keep cool this weekend!

LATER!
KNOCKHOPPER"

I'll be at work but I'll definately TiVo this.

I'm at the San Diego Comic-Con again. I've been here since Wednesday with Joe, Wes & Shelia. No web access, hence the lack of posts. I'll try to when I can.

Gross Ads

If you see any ads on the Google ad at the top of this page that seem really bizzare and/or gross please DO NOT click on them. Ad sense is spazzing at the moment and display some ads that are possibly violations of policy. I've sent a message to Google to check in to this. Please dont give these freaks any traffic. It's probably partially my fault with my potty mouth in the last post pulling these ads but I have no direct control of what shows up in that ad space. Sorry about that.

Noisy Web Pages

<rant>God, I fucking hate noisy webpages! Embedding music that autoplays when you go to a site is just hacky. It's an assult on the ears. I DONT WANT TO HEAR YOUR SUCKY CRAP ASS MUSIC!!! If I do I'll push the goddamn play button. Embedding to play AS AN OPTION is ok. Blasting that shit in my face while I scramble to find the pause button is bullshit. This goes for MySpace pages too. Actually, MySpace is the WORST at this. This shit was smacked down along time ago between web designers as crap and now that any joe can "make a webpage" at places like MySpace all the worst web design bullshit comes back. Just because you can do it dosen't mean you should. Dammit, I thought this shit died back in 1998! </rant>

Computer Tube

This odd looking thing is a concept design of a computer possibly coming out by Dell. All the components are housed in swappable cartridges that you see in the picture. From what I understand EVERYTHING will be housed in these cartridges, processor, graphic cards, hard drives, DVD drives, etc. This would be great for upgrading and expanding a computer, not much knowledge needed, just pop a cart into any slot and go. I kinda like the "out there" design but I don't know how well it would catch on. I REALLY like the cartridge idea. I can totally see a more traditonal tower design computer having slots for these in the front or whatever. Anyway check out the article at Bit-Tech.

Greenpeace founder blasts Greenpeace.

Today I listened to one of the most interesting conversations of talk radio I've ever heard. It was a podcast from Penn Jillette's radio show. Yes the Penn of the Penn and Teller magic act. He had on Environmentalist, Patrick Moore one of the founders of Greenpeace whom ended up leaving Greenpeace in 1988 because his claims that they lost sight of what the group was put together for becoming a front for pushing a communist/socialist agenda. He says that they are using environmental issues as a means to push their political agenda rather than studying and acting on real environmental problems. He also goes on to talk about things like nuclear power being the best form of power generation we have currently, DDT not being dangerous and it's banning worldwide causing more illness and death than it ever was proven to have caused (which is none), the lack of evidence that our increased industrial emissions are actually the cause or linked to the slight rise in temperature considered "Global Warming" rather than being a naturally occurring event, and that biotech engineering is good and necessary.

Really interesting stuff. Give it a listen, the link is below:

New Game for the Atari 2600!?

30 years after the system was released people are still making games for the system!? Crazy. I have wondered what could be made with modern chip capacities and such being manufactured to run on old systems like this. Could graphics and logic be improved or games be made longer and/or faster? I don't know if this does but the screen shots don't look like it.

Anyway, this guy made a game and not only is in ROM image form to run on an emulator but he also has manufactured actual cartridges! I still have my old 2600 stored at my parents and I'm tempted to order one of these. Apparently you get multiple versions of the cartridge, a CD of the soundtrack and other stuff. It's kind of like those limited edition collector's item packs of Japanese PlayStation 2 games and US PC games. Funny. Anyway take a look, theres even pictures of the creator of Atari playing it.

How to Deal With Being in Prison

I'm back from "The Land Withouth Internet" and before I can even talk about the trip I'm confronted by a link to this from the eHow feed on my start page:

How to Deal With Being in Prison

Yup, somebody actually wrote a wiki on how to deal with prison life. Yeah, I'm sure someone is going to jump on the internet one last time and look this up as the cops are kicking down their door. This is one of my favorites:
"Do not become a 'punk' (girlfriend). While becoming a punk might give you some fleeting, temporary protection from other inmates, you will be a virtual slave to one. Punks are used and abused. They are traded away in card games and sold for cigarettes. It is not a path to long term survival in prison."
Good to know "Just In Case".
